happy birthday blog!

this weekend our blog celebrated it's first birthday!
how fast does a year go by...? i have really enjoyed blogging, it's kept me motivated to try new recipes and take more pictures.

here are some memories i captured on the blog this past year:

who could forget millie versus the butter. i still laugh when i think about this.

i love my chair re-do. and thankful we saved her after the storm!

these chicken philly sandwiches were amazing. healthy? prob not...

one of my favorite crafts was my lima bean wreath...before it fell and broke into a million pieces.

we were blessed with a white Christmas here in the south. i bet it was my first one.

we took a group of student to new york city for spring break for a missions trip. such a fun week in the city.

i pretty much forgot millie's first birthday.

then of course there was the tornado with lots of posts dedicated to that.

and the exciting news of buying our first home!

i am so thankful for each and every one of you who keeps up with our lives through this blog. i really enjoy sharing life with you and will continue to blog about what's going on here in alabama!

what i'm pinning

i love pinterest. especially my iphone app.
i get the majority of my crafts/idea/recipes from other people...now that i stalk pinterest i feel more crafty.

first up is this yummy recipe for potato chips and ranch dressing. i think it's healthy too, that's just bonus!

remember my post about our salvaged stump. i found inspiration!

gorgeous!

this is a cute idea i've seen floating around pinterest. my mom saved the paper from our wedding day, we need to do this one!

we grabbed a couple windows from our old house, i would love to do something fun like this! taking suggestions for other ideas on how to use 'em.

show me your pinterest inspirations and follow me!

who do you follow?

i am always searching for new blogs to add to my google reader. i love love love finding new blogs...so please comment and let me know what blogs you follow.

i decided to share a few that i follow with you. after finishing this list, i realize my idea of few is probably not the same as your idea of few... :)

people i know in real life :)

Lasting Lewis: I know this guy pretty well, my husband Justin. He created his blog as a way to connect with our financial supporters (we are on staff with campus crusade for Christ...btw) and encourage others in their relationship with the Lord.

Simply Indecisive: Courtney is one of my closest friends. She has a precious blog updating us on her life as she graduates with her masters in education and begins her adventure in the real world :)

Goodness Gracious: Ali Grace and I got to know each other through Crusade. We share our mutual love for everything Pioneer Woman. I want to bake almost everything she posts!

Christie on Paper: Christie is our campus director with Crusade at Bama. She is one of the most Godly women I have ever met, she posts thought provoking material. She has lots going on in her life, including a spring wedding :) :)

Moments with My Miracles: Rachel also works with us at Bama. She is married to Jeff and they have the most precious three kids. She is incredibly talented in photography and design stuff...just take a look at their blog to see for yourself!

The Story of Two Nomads: This is Jess and Jordan's blog...we met them in the summer of 2009 at new staff training for Campus Crusade. They are such a fun couple and about to embark on a new journey as they head to Australia with Crusade. Hopefully they will do lots and lots of posting (with pictures, please!!) sharing about their time!!

people i don't know..in real life
(side note: i love blogs because i really truly do feel like i know these women. so fun)

If you read this often, the first one shouldn't surprise you... The Pioneer Woman

Kevin and Amanda: such a fun blog. She makes the cutest fonts (through people's handwriting) and has the best tutorials to help organize and beautify your blog!

A Soft Place to Land... love it. she is a crafter and talks about God. fun stuff.

Joy's Hope: This is a relatively new find. Love how Julie writes about God and her trust and love for Him. Please read Joy's Story, you will not regret it.

like i said before, i would love for new blogs recs to add to the mix

i adore using google reader to keep up with the blogs i read. google reader organizes and updates me each time one of the blogs i follow posts. makes it super easy to stay on top of the blog-world!! you can sign up on the right if you want!

i also added a place where you can subscribe to our blog and get email updates when i post. that's a great option too :)
