bye bye collar.

last weekend we took millie to the kennel. nothing out of the ordinary. she enjoys spending time there, they are so sweet and she gets to play with other dogs.

we went to go pick her up from the vet this afternoon. she was out of control when we saw her, jumping around and dying to see us. again, nothing out of the ordinary.

then the vet came out from the back holding her dog tag and remnants of a buckle....because she had somehow pulled off her collar and ate the entire collar.

disgusting. but hilarious at the same time.

we were so excited for her uga collar. oh well.

date night in nyc.

the last day we were in new york, justin and i had a special date. my husband is such a romantic :)

he knew the morning had been a little hectic, so he surprised me with a rose.

from our morning meeting, we headed to central park. it was a beautiful day outside, perfect for walking around the city...except my feet were killing me. i am so blessed justin is patient with my low tolerance for pain, he walked slowly beside me all day long.

then we headed to the metropolitan museum of art.
absolutely breathtaking.
it was so humbling seeing famous pieces of art in person. there are no words to describe the pieces we saw. here are a couple pictures i snapped at the museum.

after a couple of hours at the met, we headed to dinner at this amazing place our friends recommended to us.

such a fun night with my best friend in the city.

spring break in the city.

and now for the anticipated recap of our spring break.

justin and i, along with the rest of our staff team, took a group of students to nyc for spring break. seriously so. much. fun.

we spent two days on college campuses talking with students about their views of Christianity and were able to share the Gospel with lots of students...such a joy.

i pray that the Lord continues to work on the hearts of the students we interacted with at LaGuardia Community College. it was so eye opening because nobody i talked with at LGCC considered themselves a Christian, which is so different than here in Alabama! we got into so really great conversations, and so did the other groups on various campuses around the city.

while this was a missions trip, we still managed to have fun in the city.

we rode the subway everywhere we went. i loved it. we got to talk to so many new yorkers, who get a bad name. they were so nice to us...probably because we looked confused most of the time.

so emo.

pause.

i know you are expecting spring break details and recap...i promise they are on the way. i took way too many pictures and haven't been able to sort them, nor take the time to reflect over the trip.

side note:

this recipe for Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread looks amazing. it made me stop what i was doing and immediately share the wealth with yall. i have to try this soon.

going away party.

last week we had a going away party for our director, christie, who is getting married, moving to atlanta and getting a new job with crusade. we are so excited for her, but sad to see her go.

[kelsey, christie & hannah]

kelsey put together a slideshow to show at our last weekly meeting. beyond precious.

[marie & christie]

allison and bekah caye made a scrapbook with notes from some of the people christie has invested in during her three plus years at alabama.

we had a fun night eating, playing games and getting to spend some time praying for christie during her upcoming transition and marriage to d.

if you have a minute, read her letter to bama. very touching.

diva.

yesterday i was baking for a party we had at our apartment. [will post about that later]

millie loves being in the kitchen with me. as you have seen throughout the posts.

apparently i wasn't giving her enough attention. she started whimpering and crying. and she wouldn't stop until i picked her up and held her.

just like this.

do i have a baby or a chocolate lab??

friday night fun.

friday nights are always date nights. i love that about justin...even if we have had a long week, he always plans something fun for us to do together.

so, tonight we went to dinner at newks. yum. i tried their bbq chicken pizza. major yum.

after dinner we headed over to the alabama baseball game. we have lived in tuscaloosa almost a year and haven't been to an athletic event.

it was so beautiful when we first got to the stadium.

we had so much fun hanging out with christie, jared, mac and daniel. even though it started raining and rained the majority of the game. we left once it became a tad bit miserable due to the rain and wind. not a good combo.

such a fun date night. now we are spending the rest of the night watching nba [justin's fav] and me getting to catch up on reading blogs.

so thankful for my husband and fun nights with friends.

millie's new toy

we noticed that most of millie's pull toys were shedding pink and purple string all around our house. and looking like this...

so yesterday i picked up a new pink pull toy at target. i think it was like a dollar...(why am i surprised they tear up so easily?)

i put the target bag down and walked into another room. millie grabbed the bag and pulled out the toy. they must make these things with dog drugs in them...she can't get enough of 'em.

so precious. love her so much.

outback university

last weekend we served at outback university. i have posted on here about outback tuscaloosa. Justin and I really enjoy working alongside this organization. there were 250 students from multiple college campuses around the south who came to hear about the Lord and how to strengthen or begin a relationship with Him!

justin and i both had so much fun coaching bama students and getting to know new students. the Lord totally showed up and so many students either made a first time commitment to follow Him or rededicated their life to Him. praise God for real!!

it was such an amazing weekend. the weather was absolutely perfect....it was like 75 degrees in february. God couldn't have planned a better weekend to have it. my friend amanda posted about it on her precious new blog Prone to wander, Lord I feel it [what an amazing blog name!!]

what an perfect picture. this was straight from my iphone.
that is justin praying with some students.
beautiful. in so many ways.
