finally hung.

i'm ashamed to say how long i have had this coffee bag.
my friend kitty helped talk me into getting it at a local antique shop.
i always liked it, just didn't know the best way to hang it.

so i bit the bullet and just did it.
i'm beginning to learn it's okay to change my mind...if i don't like it i can always move it. man, i'm full of wisdom today.

i got a wooden dowel at michaels. i'm sure you could get it cheaper at home depot, but i couldn't handle another stop.

i used the same stain we used for our kitchen table to stain the dowel before drilling holes for the twine.
really simple, thread the dowel through the bag. then knot the ends of the twine through the dowel to hang.

finished product.
just a few months later...

i swear it is straight in person. or so i think.

kennedy prints.

earlier this fall we bought two prints from kennedy prints at the kentuck art festival in town.
they have been sitting in their bag taunting me ever since...

finally we got around to framing and hanging them last night. woo-hoo for another accomplished task.

the green one says "coffee taste best with a friend"
the brown one says "how can you know Jesus when you can't wring a thank you note."
on a different note...what do you think that means?
justin and i were discussing it and we really don't know. would love to hear what you think the quote means!

the prints are a little bit smaller than 16x20 so i just flipped over the flower insert and used the back as my mat.

finished project.
no more taunting.

so...what do you think?

icing gun :)

i recently bought this guy at wal-mart. kind of an impulse purchase...but i love it. ignore the dog in the background, i would crop her out. but i felt you needed to see what cooking looks like in our house.

it comes with 5 different tips.

i used the star tip to ice these bad boys.

the gun really makes icing and decorating much easier.
love it. see where you can get one near you...

lima bean wreath

recently i saw all things thrifty's post on her lima bean wreath. i was inspired...look at this picture.

while mine didn't turn out as beautiful, i am proud of my version.

i followed her tutorial to a tee.

including the unfortunate tumble from the door...

merry Christmas from the karls.
